Group classes

All group classes, kids and adults, follow the same basic outline.

We begin with warm up movements called Mobilisations. Mobilisations focus on activating or awakening different parts of the body that may not have been used during the day. The aim of these movements is to open and connect up the entire body so we can move forward in the class as physically, emotionally and mentally ready as possible.

Then we move onto the forms of Wing Chun. This period helps us come into the right mindset and feeling.

After the forms we move onto the theme of the week. At Foundations there are several themes we follow in our training all related to physical, emotional and mental development… these include:

Balance
Structure
Range
Power
Speed
Sparring and Forms

These themes cover all aspects of the martial art and we use them to explore the techniques and system from a variety of different angles.

Finally, there are  2 package types; once a week or unlimited

Private classes

Private lessons are designed to train you in all aspects of the art but in a way that is more personally directed to your needs and goals.

While we practise all the same things in a private lesson that we would in a group class, the idea is that if you wish to slow your training down to a pace more suitable to your learning style OR you wish to be challenged in a more personal and private setting, the private lessons allow you to move at your own pace and level.

Private lessons come in packs of 10, 25 or 50. They last 50-55 mins and always push you in just the right and personal way!

There is no secret to the system, like anything, the more you practise these principles, the more tools you will have to use when things don't go to plan.

Corporate and School events

Kung Fu is an amazing thing to learn and experience in a group, with friends, classmates or colleagues, especially with the aim of bringing the participants closer together!

In every class at Foundations students/participants are encouraged to face situations just outside of their normal range of competence and comfort. So when you bring a group together to experience these ideas and practices, it organically helps the participants connect and bond in ways that only personal development training can.

You are asked, in a fun and non-threatening way, to explore different ways to move, think and feel, not only on a personal and individual level but you are also asked to help those around you who are also trying to do the same.

School programs

Show students how to be more focussed and strategic for better examination and study results. The workshops help kids shape good routines and mindfulness techniques that increase their overall competence levels, encourage team work and therefore build confidence.

Corporate events

Built on developing relaxation techniques to increase focus and efficiency, physical exercises to get into the body and find your balance and stability and team building exercises which encourage leadership, co-operation and communication. All the attributes of a well oiled team!

Whether at school or in the office, these experiences create relationships built on trust and respect. These relationships lead to better team work and overall efficiency of any group.

These events are fun, educational and will help all participants develop and grow!
